Capirotada Mexican Bread Pudding

Ingredients

Frying oil

6 large bolillos, sliced

2 liters of water

½ kilo of brown sugar

1 cup of sugar

2 slices of cinnamon

4 cloves

½ cup peanut

½ cup of raisins

150 grams of panela cheese (Mexican fresh cheese)

½ cup of walnut, chopped

Walnuts in halves to garnish

Directions

1Dry the slices of bread in the sun and fry them in hot oil.

2Boil the water with the brown sugar, and cinnamon until you get a light syrup.

3Strain.

4Arrange a layer fried bread slices in the bottom of pan or pot and cover them with peanuts, raisins, nuts and cubes of cheese.

5Bathe with the piloncillo honey.

6Repeat the procedure to create several layers until the ingredients are finished.

7Garnish with walnut halves.

8Bake on medium heat until the pudding gets browned.
