Ingredients

12 cups of water

3 cinnamon sticks

1 ½ cups corn flour dough

1 ½ cups brown sugar

½ bar of unsweetened baking chocolate

2 teaspoons vanilla

Directions

1Mix 8 cups water and the 3 cinnamon sticks in a large pot.

2Place the pot on the stove over high heat.

3Mix the remaining water with the corn flour in a blender.

4Blend until completely mixed.

5Then, pour the mixture into the same pot using a strainer.

6Let both mixtures boil.

7Once boiling, reduce the fire to the lowest level.

8Mix the champurrado constantly with a whisk for about 6 to 7 minutes, until the mixture thickens.

9Add the sugar, the chocolate and the vanilla extract.

10Again, mix the champurrado for another 4 to 5 minutes, until the chocolate is melted and the flavors combined.

11Your authentic Mexican champurrado recipe is ready.
